    Gorenje is a Slovenian company, a famous manufacturer of household appliances. The headquarters is in Velenje. The firm started with the production of agricultural equipment. It is one of the ten largest manufacturers of household appliances in Europe with the production of 1.65 million units of large household appliances annually. Approximately 95% of all equipment produced at the Gorenje plants is exported.

    For more than sixty years, a well-thought-out combination of technology, cutting-edge design, environmental care and the price and quality that Gorenje has implemented has continuously raised the bar for quality standards and user expectations for European manufacturers.     International Industrial Design Innovations Forum is aimed at promoting students' projects. Why did you decide to support this project? Why you are interested in such cooperation?

    We are the leading, design-oriented European manufacturer of home technology. It is very important for us to be one step ahead of everyone else, both in design and innovation. We, without false modesty, sometimes set trends in the consumer electronics market.

    Does your company already have experience of cooperation with novice designer designers or are you trying to work with experienced and recognized professionals?

    We work with the best, and what age they are - it does not matter at all.

    Is it easy for a young designer to get a job in your company?

    If a novice designer is talented and responsible, we will consider his candidacy. In addition, we look at the recommendations of his previous employers. Yes, we are seriously approaching the selection of employees, as this directly affects our reputation.

    What is the most important for a young industrial designer who graduated university? Maybe some personal qualities or luck, or participation in contests, or something else?

    Work hard, look for inspiration in the surrounding world and in our history. Still be an observant and discerning person. Discernment helps put yourself in the shoes of a buyer, and this, you know, is very valuable when creating kitchen appliances.

    Is there any design project that made a very strong impression on you recently?

    Yes, of course, this is a project with a very fashionable Parisian designer futurist Ora-Ito, with whom we created all the necessary appliances for the kitchen in a unique design.

    Let's dream. What will the design projects of the future look like? What else did not come up, but it would be worth it?

    I think that the future is behind those projects that will simplify our lives and save time. Soon the technology in general will be minimally visible in space and make our life even easier.

    The Forum presents many projects from the design segment for the kitchen. And what would be the perfect kitchen for you? What there necessarily should be?

    I already have an ideal kitchen and it is equipped with Gorenje appliances. It is spacious and bright, this freedom in the kitchen helps creativity.
